1st Edition Talent Awards 

Bases of the call for the 1st Edition Awards Talent of the Obra Social “la Caixa” – Patronato  Politécnica. 

The Board of the Higher Polytechnic School of the University of Girona (hereinafter Polytechnic Board) calls the 1st. edition of the Talento Social Work Awards “la Caixa” – Patronato Politécnica, corresponding to the 2017-18 academic year, in accordance with the following bases:

 

1. CONTENT OF THE PROJECT

The Talent Award “la Caixa” – Patronato Politécnica (hereinafter Talent Awards) want to recognize and reward future students of the Polytechnic School of the University of Girona (hereinafter Polytechnic) with the best academic curriculum to contribute to the retention and attraction of talent in the territory. The funding of the Talent Awards will be the responsibility of Obra Social “la Caixa”, as a col ∙ ra entity. The management of the Talent Awards will be the responsibility of the Polytechnic with the support of the Polytechnic Board. Finally, the promotion will be carried out jointly by the 3 participating entities, namely the Obra Social “la Caixa”, the Polytechnic and the Polytechnic Board.

2. ECONOMIC EQUIPMENT AND OTHERS 

11 prizes are offered, one for each of the degrees taught at the Polytechnic, with a provision corresponding to the cost of enrollment for the first full year during the 2017-18 academic year at the Higher Polytechnic School of the UdG. Specifically, the prizes are the following:

(*) These amounts (endowments) are those corresponding to the current course 2016-17 and are subject to slight variations depending on the prices of academic services in the public universities of Catalonia established by the Generalitat of Catalonia for the academic year 2017-18 .

The amounts indicated in the last column of the previous table indicate the allocation of the Talent Awards for each of the degrees taught at the Higher Polytechnic School and which are the subject of the Talent Awards. With the understanding that this costs are those corresponding to the 2016-17 academic year and, therefore, are susceptible to slight variations depending on the prices of academic services in the public universities of Catalonia established by the Generalitat of Catalonia for the next academic year 2017-18. In any case, the allocation of each prize will correspond exactly to the costs of enrollment during the 2017-18 academic year of the first full course in the corresponding undergraduate studies; that is, they include 60 ECTS credits and tuition fees for the 2017-18 academic year.

3. CANDIDATES AND ASSESSMENT

To qualify for the Talent Award, the following requirements must be met:

  1. Have formalized the university pre-registration as the first option in the July session in any of the degree studies of the Polytechnic indicated in section 2.
  2. Have an access grade equal to or greater than 8.5.
  3. Proceed from the baccalaureate or training cycles.
  4. Be under 28 years old
  5. Have enrolled in the degree studies of the Polytechnic mentioned in the pre-enrollment of point 1.

The people who meet the requirements 1,2,3 and 4 will automatically be candidates a priori to qualify for the Talent Awards without having to submit any candidacy. The requirement of point 5 is an a posteriori condition.

Regarding the evaluation for the awarding of prizes, the procedure to be followed is described below.

From the Academic Secretariat of the Polytechnic, in the registration period, a list of the persons who have chosen the Polytechnic studies as the first option ordered the best access grade for each of the degrees will be drawn up. From this list, the person with the best access grade in each of the studies subject to the Talent Awards and who at the same time meets the requirements from 1 to 4 indicated in the previous paragraph, will be the potential winner of the Talent Award.

In case that several people with the same highest grade of access agree to some degree, the Executive Board of the Polytechnic Board will establish an additional mechanism to select the awarded person. This mechanism may include asking interested parties for additional information (for example, academic record or CV) or, if appropriate, calling them for a personal interview.

Only in the case that to some degree there is no candidate that meets the requirements indicated above, the prize corresponding to that grade will award the candidate with the best grade of access within the rest of the degrees that opt ​​for the awards. , with the condition that it meets the requirements and that it has not been previously awarded with another Talent Award within the procedure for granting the prizes. As a result of the requirements and the application of this mechanism, it may be the case that in some degree study there are several people awarded to the detriment of other degrees where no prize can be awarded.

In the event that one of the prize-winners waives the prize or fails to comply with requirement 5, that is, does not enforce enrollment in Polytechnic studies to which they are pre-registered in first option, the prize will correspond to the following person for order of best access note and compliance with criteria following the procedure described earlier in this section.

Only one prize will be declared void if, following the procedure explained in the previous points, there is no prize person who meets the requirements to be awarded.

Potential winners will receive a notification from the Polytechnic, before July 30, where they will be informed of their status as potential Talent Award winners. This notification will be accompanied by a document that the interested person must complete in order to authorize the transfer of data to the organization of the Talent Awards.

4. JURY 

The Jury will be constituted by the members of the Executive Board of the Polytechnic Board and will be able to count on the advice of specialized technicians in the access to the studies of the Polytechnic that will carry out the management and identification of the candidates. The decisions of the Jury will be unappealable ∙ bles.

5. DELIVERY OF PRIZES

At the time of formalizing enrollment in the Polytechnic studies, the prizewinners must pay the registration in an ordinary manner according to the standard procedure of the Polytechnic.

The status of the awarded person will be conditioned to the formalization of the enrollment in the studies of the Polytechnic. The prize equivalent to the registration fee will be paid after the academic year has started.

The Talent Awards will be made effective by bank transfer in favor of the person awarded during the month of October of the academic year. The transfer will be made compulsory to a CaixaBank account where the awarded person must appear as owner.

Likewise, a diploma will be awarded to the persons awarded in a formal ceremony of subsequent celebration once the academic year has begun.

These amounts will be subject to the appropriate tax obligations in your case.

6. OBLIGATIONS 

The Polytechnic Board may manage the publication and dissemination, if deemed appropriate, the names and personal data provided by the winners of the Talent Awards through its communication channels (web, social networks, etc.).

Likewise, the Polytechnic Board may request the presence and participation of the awarded persons in any future event that may be held and where it is interesting to have their presence as winners in the Talent Awards.
